The Commonwealth Games 2022 are coming to an end after nearly two weeks of breathtaking sports action. Here’s everything you need to know about this year’s closing ceremony, as well as when the next Commonwealth Games will happen

Closing Ceremonies

Aston Villa Football Stadium

Address: Aston Villa Football Stadium Villa Park, Trinity Road, Birmingham, B6 6HE

  • The entrance is via The Holte car park P2 entrance.
  • The lounge is located within the Holte Suite at the Holte End.
  • Coach transfer pick up to Alexander Stadium and drop off back to Aston Villa Football Club after the Ceremonies will be within car park P2.

  • Seats for Ceremonies are blocks 105-107.

Here’s some of the things to look out for today:

Gold medals: 23

Athletics: Women’s and men’s marathon, women’s and men’s T53/54 marathon

Gymnastics: Women’s team

Swimming: Men’s 50m fly, women’s 50m breast, men’s 200m free, S13 men’s 50m free, S13 women’s 50m free, men’s 400m medley, women’s 100m fly, men’s 100m back, women’s and men’s 4x100m free relay

Track cycling: Women’s and men’s individual pursuit, women’s sprint, men’s keirin

Weightlifting: Women’s 49kg, women’s 55kg, men’s 55kg, men’s 61kg

Right here’s a quick ganders at what’s just started or is coming up over the next couple of hours or so:

  • Badminton – Scotland v Maldives is under way in the mixed team group matches (14:00 BST).
  • Basketball 3×3 – Scotland face Sri Lanka in men’s pool A (17:10), prior to that the England play South Africa in the men’s wheelchair competition (16:20) and both Scotland and England in action in the women’s wheelchair tournament.
  • Bowls – Welsh duo Daniel Salmon and Jarrad Breen get under way against Namibia in the men’s pairs Scotland and Alex Marshall, who is chasing a fourth gold in the men’s pairs face Jersey (15:00).
  • Cycling (track) – Scotland’s Aileen McGlynn goes for gold in the women’s tandem sprint (16:02). Alex Pope (Wales), Stephen Bate (England), James Ball (Wales) and Neil Fachie are in the Men’s tandem 1000m time trial final. Laura Kenny and England take on Wales in the bronze medal race of the Women’s 4,000m team pursuit. England ride against New Zealand for gold in the men’s 4,000m pursuit
  • Gymnastics – England are hoping to become the first team to win three golds in a row in the men’s team final (17:20)
  • Hockey – Wales play Canada in women’s pool A (11:00).
  • Table Tennis – The second round of women’s team group matches features England v St Vincent and the Grenadines in Group 1, and in Group 4 it’s Uganda v Wales (16:00).
  • Triathlon – England’s Georgia Taylor-Brown will hope to push Olympic champion Dame Flora Duffy (Bermuda) for gold in the women’s triathlon.
